17/03/2015 Georgian Water & Power replacing obsolete underground communications in Didube district
Georgian Water & Power company is replacing obsolete and amortized sections of underground communications in Didube district. The Gaprindauli street ongoing works will come to an end in mid April. Residents of Gaprindauli street will get more reliable water supply as a result of the networks rehabilitation. As head of the districts administration Zurab Ugulava expressed today interest in the ongoing works, the company’s deputy technical director Omar Gotsiridze made him familiarized with them.
The obsolete water supply and sewage networks of all diameteres will be totally renewed in Gaprindauli street, new wells will be arranged and new shut-off control valves will be installed. Total length of replaceable pipes makes up 400 meters.
As technical director of GWP Omar Gotsiridze points out sewage network of 150 meters is being rehabilitated presently in Gaprindauli street and the water supply network of 250 meters is going to be replaced in one of these days so that to completely renew all the branches out of order. According to Mr. Gotsiridze GWP will also install in the renewed water supply networks 4 new shut-off valves and arrange 4 new wells. In parallel the company will arrange 3 new wells on sewage network.
Following the water supply and sewage networks renewal the administration of Didube district will ensure rehabilitation and asphalting of the road-way and traffic-way sections.
The water supply and sewage networks rehabilitation process in different districts of Tbilisi is being carried out this year in accordance with the plan. Under the investment program Georgian Water & Power company will replace underground communications in about 70 streets of Tbilisi. GWP is implementing the street networks rehabilitation program to make the water supply and sewage systems more sound and ensure stable water supply.
