18/09/2015 September 18 is a World Water Monitoring Day
The National Environment Agency and GWP Laboratory employees took samples of water from Aragvi river on this occasion. The process of taking the water samples was attended by the head of the NEA Tamar Bagratia and director of communication and corporate services of GWP Eka Beridze. According to the NEA information the experts of National Environment Agency will define physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of water, other than disease-provoking indicators, while the GWP laboratory employees will study water quality.
It should be noted that Clean Water Fund of America established the World Water Monitoring Day on 18 September, 2003, which was aimed at increasing the public awareness about the water resources pollution and facilitating the involvement.
