11/03/2015 Georgian Water and Power renewing obsolete underground communications in Nadzaladevi district
Georgian Water and Power is renewing obsolete and amortized sections of underground communications in Choporti by-street of Nadzaladevi district. The works will be finished by the end of the current month. Residents of Choporti by-street will be provided by improved water supply as a result of rehabilitation of the networks passing the street. Deputy technical director of the company Omar Gotsiridze familiarized head of the district’s administration Zaza Gabunia with ongoing works today.
All obsolete networks of water supply and sewage are going to be completely renewed in Choporti by-street, new nodal wells arranged and new locking and regulating valves installed. Total length of the pipes to be replaced makes up 800 meters. According to the plan the works will be finished by the end of March.
As the company’s deputy technical director Omar Gotsiridze informs, 500-meter water supply network and 300-meter sewage network are undergoing rehabilitation and 31 branches reaching residential houses are being renewed. According to Mr. Gotsiridze the company will also install 2 new locking valves and arrange new nodal wells on the renewed water supply networks of the company and arrange in parallel 6 new nodal wells on the sewage network.
Following the water supply and sewage networks rehabilitation Nadzaladevi District Administration will rehabilitate the road and coat it with asphalt.
The water supply and sewage networks rehabilitation process in different districts of Tbilisi is going on this year according to the schedule as before. Under the investment program for this year Georgian Water and Power will renew underground communications of about 70 streets. The streets rehabilitation program is being carried out by the company so that to improve and make more stable the water supply and sewage systems of Tbilisi.
