24/06/2015 “Georgian Water and Power“ arranged mini treatment plant in Vere River gorge
No sewage effluent will be discharged in Vere river from today. “Georgian Water and Power“ has arranged a temporary treatment plant in Vere river gorge and connected it to the sewage collector damaged as a result of natural calamity. The plant was installed in order to prevent sewage effluent discharge in Vere River. The mini treatment plant collects sewage runoff from the damaged collector and discharges it after treatment and cleaning.
Such engineering-technical solution of “Georgian Water and Power“ is a temporary measure, as reconstruction of the road and sewage collector in Vere River gorge will require about 30 days. During this period of time local mini treatment plant will prevent polluted waters discharge into Vere River. As to the sewage collector, it will be reinstated after the road and cleaning works completion.
“Georgian Water and Power“ reminds the population of the capital city that drinking water supplied to Tbilisi residents is in no way related to Vere River water, as the capital city is supplied drinking water from Aragvi gorge.
