07/08/2015 “Georgian Water &Power” replacing underground utility systems in Nadzaladevi district
“Georgian Water & Power” company is replacing obsolete and amortized sections of underground utility systems in Nadzaladevi district. The works in progress in Knolevi street will be completed by the end of August. The company’s deputy technical director Mr. Omar Gotsiridze familiarized today the Head of Administration of Nadzaladevi district Mr. Zaza Gabunia with completed works and the works which remain yet to be done.
Sewage network of 200 mm is being rehabilitated in Knolevi street. 500 running meters of water supply main network of 900 mm and 500 running meters of distribution network of 160 mm will be replaced by new piping and the branches of 700 meters length will be renewed. Total length of the pipes to be replaced in the street makes up 1 700 meters. The company will install in the network 6 new locking control valves, arrange 3 new junction wells of water distribution system and renew the hydrant network.
Upon completion of the water supply and sewage systems network renovation the administration of Nadzaladevi district will ensure rehabilitation and asphalting of the roadway and pavement in Knolevi street.
The water supply and water drainage networks rehabilitation process in different districts of Tbilisi has been progressing this year in accordance with the framed plan as before. The works are completed in 40 streets. Within the framework of the investment program of this year “Georgian Water & Power” is replacing aged underground utility systems in about 80 streets of Tbilisi. The company has been implementing the street networks rehabilitation program in order to improve water supply and water drainage systems of Tbilisi and ensure uninterrupted water supply.
